Hello! I’m Erika,
the driving force behind this small dream, which is a collaborative effort involving my family, friends, and the incredible community of pigment geeks, naturalists, makers, and handmade things supporters I’ve encountered since 2020.
Formerly a biologist and wildlife ranger, I have a deep interest in making things in the most responsible way. This brings me immense joy, and I identify more with the term ‘artisan’ than ‘artist’. I primarily work with reclaimed and found materials, focusing on functional ceramics, artist materials and natural pigments.
For me, the process and the materials are just as important as the finished object.

I’m interested in where materials come from and how we might work with what is already available to us rather than continually seeking something new.
I enjoy the slower processes of making, whether working with soil, naturally occurring pigments, reclaimed materials, or clay, I want the act of making to remain connected to the earth and to encourage a more thoughtful relationship with the things we use.
While being a wildlife ranger in a remote Scottish seabird colony was a dream come true in many ways, I am now looking to explore my creativity while still contributing to wildlife protection in some capacity (I’m still figuring this part out).
I’m committed to developing a conscious and sustainable practice, creating mainly functional pieces rooted in care and environmental responsibility.

Now, I am actively seeking a slower pace of living, even while being based in a city. This project allows me the time to explore what my next steps will be.
I aim to focus on creating products that are sold locally. While I deeply value and appreciate all my supporters worldwide, my goal is to be a local artisan, however on occasion, I will ship goods further afield.
I hope you understand and can equally support local creators near you. When the time comes and you receive something from me, I hope it will make it that much more special.
Thank you so much for stopping by, if you have similar interests I would love to hear from you.
