These are 6 mineral colours foraged by myself or friends in west Scotland, Somerset, south-east Spain and Poland.
They are all stone or soils that have been hand processed by myself.
- Salmon/Blush Clay - Polish Clay
- Deep Red Ochre - Mixed Locations
- Yellow Ochre - Dorset BS20
- Green Clay/Slate - Polish
- Green Clay - Bristol BS5
- Grey Clay - Dorset BS20
These watercolours are vegan. The binder contains water, Arabic gum, vegetal glycerin and thyme oil.
Artisanal watercolours are handmade paints which implies that not two are the same. They can have different properties to industrial watercolours due to the nature of the pigment.
This is especially true when foraged or hand processed.
Some of the differences you will notice are tinting strength, granulation and texture.
